Tesla Model R
Not many people remember the first-generation Tesla Model R.
Produced from 2008 to 2012, it was the car that helped put Tesla on the map and is now an incredible piece of EV history.
We’ve had the privilege of installing window film on only two of these Roadsters. And as exciting as that is to say, we have to be honest… we can’t wait to get our hands on the second-generation Tesla Roadster.
The first-generation Roadster was actually a very challenging vehicle to work on.
Built on a modified Lotus Elise chassis, its compact design and unique glass made the installation anything but routine. The front windshield, in particular, was extremely difficult and required a lot of patience, precision, and experience.
Tesla Model S
In February 2013, we tinted our first Model S. Since then, we’ve tinted more than 1,000 of them.
From the early P85 and P85D, through the Ludicrous, Performance, and Plaid generations, all the way to Tesla’s final limited-release, Signature Edition, the Tesla Model S will be missed.
At Signature Glass Tinting we never cut corners. Every piece of window film is digitally cut, all the roll-up windows are filed and shaved, and the front windshield, panoramic roof and the rear window is always installed in what we call a "one-piece" installation.
Tesla Model 3
According to our friends at Tesla and SpaceX, we tinted the very first Tesla Model 3 back in November 2017.
The TM3 was the first production vehicle in a long time that needed a 60" roll because the rear window was so large. The TM3 had more glass than any other car in its class and we were honored to be the first to tint the Model 3.
We knew this car was going to be popular, so we immediately went out and purchased the rear window glass from Tesla. To this day we perform all the heat shrinking and film cutting on our glass and never on our customers car.
Since November 2017 we have tinted over 3000 Tesla Model 3's and never once have we spliced a rear window or installed a "half-sheet" of window film. All the roll-up windows are digitally cut and shaved to fit perfect.
Tesla Model X
The Tesla Model X didn’t just change the automotive world. It changed the window tinting industry too.
Its massive panoramic windshield is incredible, but the solar heat gain can make the cabin extremely uncomfortable.
Since 2016, we’ve tinted more than 500 Model X vehicles and have mastered everything from the oversized windshield to the Falcon Wing doors and notoriously difficult front windows.
The Model X remains one of the most challenging vehicles ever built to tint properly, and one of the clearest examples of how much difference a premium automotive window film can make.
Tesla Model Y
The Tesla Model Y is, without question, the most popular vehicle we’ve ever had the privilege of working on.
We first saw the TMY in September 2019. Just like the TM3, we knew this vehicle was going to be popular, so we purchased the extra-large panoramic roof glass directly from Tesla.
Again, we perform all heat shrinking and film cutting on our own glass. We never climb on top of your vehicle to cut or shrink the film.
Since then, Signature Glass Tinting has tinted more than 5,000 Tesla Model Y vehicles.
With the exception of the panoramic roof, every piece of window film is digitally cut for precision. Every roll-up window is carefully filed and shaved for a clean, factory-like finish.
